Software & Data Outputs

A survey normally collects several million data items and schedules hundreds of thousands of remedial action requirements.  The database outputs provided by a survey,  facilitate the enormous range of individual and ad-hoc enquiries and reportings that are required to explore the full depth of the survey results

NBA are specialists in the computerisation of housing stock data - having input and transferred survey data to a wide range of Local Authority computer systems. Data has also, frequently, been tailored for use in conjunction with a number of bespoke software systems.

Our own software applications are, currently, designed for use with Microsoft's Access database. A survey assignment normally allows for both formal and informal training, support and end-user documentation

NBA’s Access Database

Microsoft’s Access is a powerful database application that provides an enormous range of features to facilitate the full enquiry and reporting of the survey findings.

Our principal ACCESS system provides a menu-driven and 'user friendly' interface that facilitates up-dating procedures and allows full interrogation, ad-hoc and formal enquiries, reportings and listings. Specifically, the system allows:-

Carrying out enquiries, analysis and report generation, of a truly ad-hoc nature, on any aspect of the database - in a simple user-friendly fashion;
up-dating the database, as necessary, to: reflect works done; incorporate additional maintenance needs identified by on-going cyclical inspections; account for 'right-to-buys' and new-builds; amendments of costs of remedial actions.
Development, review and up-date of elemental repair and upgrading programmes.

A brief description of a standard database system is given here - a few sample 'screen dumps' are provided - click on the thumbnail for a full screen image

wpe1.gif (37458 bytes)The opening screen provides a simple menu of options, clicking on each of these buttons will enter the options.

wpe3.gif (41009 bytes)Selecting alternative screens/options allows the user to view property details, maintenance requirements, costs, energy efficiency etc and provide means for updating and amending records individually and within batches.

wpe6.jpg (63799 bytes)Often the survey includes for the amalgamation of Visual Data (photographs and / or VDS floor plans) within the database system.

        wpe8.gif (16596 bytes)

Individual screens will alternatively, display a photograph of the property or it's floor plan or preview a report for printing the visual data.

wpeA.gif (29662 bytes)Screens are provided that allow the user to run reports required for annual submissions, including HIP, Statistical Annex to the Business Plan and for the ODPM's Cost Generation and Building Cost Models.

wpeC.gif (25058 bytes)Subsequent screens document, for example, the details of 'failings' with regard to the Decent Homes standard and resources required to reach national and local targets.
